Lorde // Pure Heroine

"Pure Heroine" is breakout artist's, Lorde's, debut album. With her number one song "Royals", and Grammy nominations for "Best Record" and "Best Song";  this 17 year old from New Zealand is taking the world by storm. Each song on her debut album gives a feeling of luxury, excitement, and rebellion. With it's hip-hop and electronic influences, this is by far one of my favorite albums of 2013

Lately, I have been obsessed with Kate Spade! My problem is that everything is so expensive! For quite some time now I've had my eye on the watches, they're so unique and glamorous! So today, I was just shopping around at some local boutiques and I came across this watch! Its an exact replica of the Kate Spade Metro watch. At first, I didn't want a fake watch but then i realized spending $175 dollars for a watch I probably wouldn't wear everyday is a bit ridiculous! I brought it up to the cash register and the lady noticed that one of the gold dots on each corner was loose and that it moves around the watch! This was the last one so they agreed to take $5 off the original price, making it only $18. The loose gold dot is barely noticeable so I decided to get it anyway! In my opinion, this was a great deal!

Lately, I've been listening to "The Weeknd". Some of my favorites are "Crew Love", "The Morning", and "Wicked Games"! His style of music is definately R&B, which most people wouldn't guess I like but it's actually one of my favorite music genres! 

"Lorde" is a fairly new artist, and to be honest I haven't listened to her other music but, her most popular song "Royals" is absolutely amazing! Its insanly catchy so i can see this one getting popular really fast!  

Jay Z's album "Magna Carta... Holy Grail", is absoultely spectacular. Honestly, its one of the best albums I've heard in a while. Featuring artists like Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean, Beyonce, and Rick Ross, you can guarantee authentic talent. Some of my favorite songs are, " Holy Grail", " Oceans", 

"Picasso Baby", and "Heaven", just to name a few.

"The xx" are an English indie pop band with a unique sound. Some of their songs barely consist of even lyrics, but i still adore them. Some of my favorite songs are "Angels" and "Intro". 

Pacific Air's album "Stop Talking" is astonshing! It's funny because I actually found this band through an add on spotify! Pacific Air has a very beachy vibe to their music and in my opinion they sound like a cross between the bands "MGMT" and "Young the Giant". My favorite songs on the album are 

"Play Nice", "Roses" and "Float".

Music has a tremendous impact on my life,  it can make me want to sob into my pillow at 4 AM or, it can make me want to dance around the kitchen in my pajamas on Saturday morning. I'm in love with music because it can completely alter your mood in as little as 3 mintues. It can make you feel like you can conquer the world, like anything is possible. But it can also grab you and drag you to the bottom, making you feel numb and worthless inside. But that's the magic of the music, its ability to control people is so liberating. Music effects people in ways unimaginable, in ways you can't put into words, the music just speaks for itself.

In the hot Texas summers, shorts are essential. There are countless amounts of summer trends but, colorful shorts would have to be my favorite! They're wonderful for dressing up an outfit or just adding some pizazz to an plain shirt. 

If you know anything about high quality shorts you would know all about the J. Crew chino shorts, they fit flawlessly and come in about every color possible! On top of that, they're fairly afforadable if you purchase them at the right time! While they're normally priced at about $45.00,  I bought my bright orange pair on sale for about $20.00 ( first pair on the right ). In my opinion, paying $45.00 for a pair of shorts is a little much but, you can easily purchase shorts just like them at Target or Old Navy!
